Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, Tennessee is seeking a Certified First Assistant (CSFA) to join our surgical team. The CFA will support the operating room team in preoperative and intraoperative care and may precept others within their specialty.

The role requires NBSTSA CSFA certification, BLS within 30 days of start date, and typically 3 years of related experience. TriStar StoneCrest is part of HCA Healthcare and serves Rutherford County with a modern 100-bed facility.

Qualifications

• CSFA through NBSTSA required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical site including shaving, marking and prep.
• Apply positioning aids and tourniquet cuffs.
• Provide hemostasis via injections, cautery, clamping/tying as directed.
• Assist surgeon with equipment such as video camera systems.
• Perform skin closure by staples or sutures under surgeon supervision.
• Insert and suture drains as directed by surgeon.
• Apply dressings, gauze, splints, and casts.
• Administer subcutaneous local anesthetics as directed.
