Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Certified SPD Technician to join the Central Sterile/Supply team in Temecula, CA. The role ensures sterilization standards, assembles instrument sets, and maintains inventory while coordinating with nursing units based on surgery schedules.

The ideal candidate holds Sterile Processing certification and BLS, with 1 year in a surgical dept; opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits are provided by UHS.

Qualifications

• One year experience in surgical department in an acute care facility.
• Sterile Processing certification or National Surgical Technician certification.
• Current BLS obtained through AHA.
• Endoscope Reprocessor certification required within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Make rounds to ensure equipment is properly charged for usage.
• Maintain sterile/clean supplies and issue to nursing units on request.
• Decontaminate, assemble and wrap instruments and trays for sterilizations.
• Assemble instrument sets and track missing instruments per protocol.
• Pull cases and prioritize instrumentation needs based on the surgery schedule.
