Job summary

The Sterile Processing Technician I at Medical University of South Carolina reports to the Nurse Manager and performs instrument processing, decontamination, sterilization, and case assembly in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

With at least 1 year of SPD experience and active CRCST/CBSPD certification, you will work under supervision in a fast-paced health care environment, contributing to patient safety and departmental efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Effective communication, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills and data entry.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; capable of working in a fast-paced health-care setting.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as SPD Tech; CRCST/CBSPD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Assemble cases and assist instrument production.
• Adhere to state, local, and federal requirements and hospital procedures.
