Job summary

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech II for the evening full-time shift. The role focuses on patient safety, meticulous sterilization, and efficient instrument processing in a state-of-the-art sterile department.

You will perform decontamination, instrument tracking, and loading of sterilization equipment, adhering to infection control protocols. Training at Arlington will occur during first days; candidates should have a HS diploma and sterile processing

Qualifications

  • Detail oriented and strong understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols.
  • 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred.
  • CSPDT / CBSPD / CRCST certification required upon hire or preferred.

Work location: Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday 2:30pm-11pm with rotating call requirements during the week, on weekends, and holidays.

Training: Must be able to attend training at the corporate office in Arlington 8am-5pm during the first 1-5 days of hire

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • 1 year of sterile processing experience preferred
  • CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician required upon hire or
  • CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution required upon hire or
  • CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician required upon hire
  • HSPA – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred
  • Detail oriented and strong understanding of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
What You Will Do
  • Performs scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label. Demonstrates proper assembly technique for instrument trays. Demonstrates wrapping/containing of instruments/tray.
  • Performs scanning of instrument trays to track location using the Cenistrac system. Demonstrates decontamination process according to policy and procedure. Cleaning of instruments manually and using automated cleaners.
  • Performs tests and documents as directed to ensure proper operation of washers.
  • Demonstrates the proper loading technique for sterilization method. Effectively utilizes infection control concepts. Effectively handles all chemical and cleaning agents used for cleaning, decontamination and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Demonstrates processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts, and Urology carts. Monitors supplies as necessary.
