Job summary

Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center is seeking a Central Sterile Technician for the Evening shift. The role involves receiving, decontaminating, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and hospital equipment, while ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Knowledge of The Joint Commission and AAMI standards is preferred. One year of Central Sterile or OR experience is desirable, and Central Sterile Certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: one year in Central Sterile or OR preferred.
• Certification: Central Sterile Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receipt, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.

Job Summary

Job Type: Full Time

Position entails the receipt, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and hospital equipment. Will perform and document biological testing, properly operate all department sterilizers and accurately label each sterilizer item. Technician is knowledgeable of The Joint Commission (TJC) and American Association of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate

EXPERIENCE:

• One year experience in Central Sterile or Operating Room experience preferred.

CERTIFICATION:

• Central Sterile Certification preferred.
