Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide direct nursing care to students across multiple districts near Naperville, IL. You will administer medications, conduct health assessments, and create IHPs/ECPs while coordinating with families and school staff.

The role requires an active RN license in the state and CSN credential (or willingness to obtain), with a BSN preferred and at least two years of school-nurse experience.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the applicable state.
• CSN credential (or willingness to obtain).
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience as a school nurse.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Must meet all federal, state, local, and contract requirements.
• Technological proficiency, including mobile devices for documentation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including chronic condition management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders).
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and school policy.
• Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations.
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs).
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings as the healthcare representative.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state, federal, and district guidelines.
• Serve as a liaison between the school, family, healthcare providers, and community agencies.
• Promote health education and wellness among students and staff.
• Respond to health-related emergencies and provide first aid/triage.
• Ensure compliance with immunization and communicable disease control laws/regulations.
