Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our clinical team on a full-time basis. You will administer respiratory therapies, manage ventilators, perform ABG analysis, and aid in airway management within a multidisciplinary setting.

We value licensing, CPR/BLS (ACLS per unit), and at least 3 years of cardiopulmonary care. Our program emphasizes patient-centered care, ongoing education, and supportive benefits to help you grow

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-Approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state.
  • CPR-BLS; ACLS as required by unit.
  • 3+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care preferred.
  • Proficiency with mechanical ventilation and airway management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitor for side effects.
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments as ordered; monitor indications and dosing.
  • Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators and airway management; tracheal suctioning.
  • Assess pain affecting rehabilitation participation and notify physician.
  • Perform ABG sampling and interpretation.
  • Perform EKGs and document results per procedure; route reports to providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitor for and address potential side effects.
  • Administer ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understand indications, dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects.
  • Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators; perform associated critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Assess pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation and notify the physician for appropriate intervention.
  • Perform arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognize potential complications and contraindications.
  • Perform EKGs, document/report results per department procedure, route to requesting providers, and file reports appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should be a graduate of an AMA-Approved School of Respiratory Therapy. Additional requirements include:

  • Current state Respiratory Therapist license
  • Three (3)+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience highly preferred
  • Current CPR certification (BLS required; ACLS per unit requirements or preferred)
  • Skills: Mechanical ventilation and airway management; oxygen/therapeutic modalities; ABG sampling and analysis; EKG Acquisition and workflow; pain assessment/communication; EMR Documentation; teamwork and time management.
