Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or related field.
• Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) from NCTRC.
• Valid state licensure/registration if required.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic recreation principles and practices.
• Experience with diverse patient populations in clinical or community settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' recreational interests and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using recreational activities.
• Facilitate group and individual therapy sessions (arts & crafts, sports, games, community outings).
• Monitor and document patient progress; adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and caregivers for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families about recreational therapy benefits and encourage participation.
• Maintain compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
