Job summary

Fundamental is seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist to lead, plan, schedule, and coordinate activities that support physical, mental, and social well-being of patients. You will present programs to staff, maintain records, and ensure engagement across patient populations.

The role emphasizes creating varied activity schedules, training staff, and managing inventory within budget while collaborating with care teams to enhance patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college specialization preferred.
• 2+ years in an Activity Assistant or Director role in psychiatric care.
• Certified Recreational Therapist designation preferred.

• Plan, develop and present a fresh and varied schedule of meaningful activities and events.
• Preparing monthly newsletter and calendar for distribution to all patients and families.
• Educate, train and encourage team members about opportunities to make meaningful connections with all patients.
• Responsible for obtaining information to compile a biography on each patient
• Responsible for maintaining proper level of activities inventory with budget constraints.

Job description

The Certified Recreational Therapist will be responsible for leading, planning, scheduling and coordinating meaningful activities appropriate to the needs and interests of patients and conducive to their physical, mental and social well-being. Ensure the activity programs are appropriately presented by staff. Maintain records of all activities and patient participation.

Posted Salary Range

USD $30.00 - USD $35.00 /Hr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

• Must have a high school diploma; College specialization preferred
• 2+ years of experience in an Activity Assistant or Director position in psychiatric care
• Activities Director Certification (Certified Recreational Therapist) preferred
• Must have passion and enthusiasm for working with the elderly.
• Possess patience and sensitivity while working with others.
• Reliable transportation required
