Job summary

Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN is seeking a Certified Radiology Tech plus Medical Assistant for After Hours Care in a part-time role. You will support safe diagnostic imaging and clinic throughput during day and evening coverage, 24-32 hours per week with flexibility for additional hours.

You will transport patients, position them for imaging, operate imaging equipment, handle RIS data entry, and assist with intake/discharge and noninvasive labs.

Qualifications

Job description

Harrison County Hospital is hiring a Certified Radiology Tech plus Medical Assistant for After Hours Care. This part-time role supports safe, efficient diagnostic imaging and clinic throughput during day/evening coverage (24-32 hours/week; minimum 3 days/week, with flexibility for additional hours as needed).

Key responsibilities include transporting patients and assisting with transfers using established patient transport and safety protocols; positioning patients and operating diagnostic imaging equipment; completing darkroom film development and related tasks; and performing clerical workflows within the radiology information system (RIS), including entering patient data, film check-in/out, and record filing/retrieval. You will also support the clinical area with intake/discharge activities and noninvasive laboratory testing. The position requires consistent compliance with fire/safety training, annual PPD, and other standards while delivering service to all age groups (neonate through geriatric).

Required knowledge and skills

Typical Shift Flow

In After Hours Care, your shift balances steady imaging needs with walk-in variability. You'll start by reviewing the schedule and any pending orders, then coordinate closely with providers and front-desk staff as patients arrive. Throughout the day/evening, you'll move between the imaging area and clinical space, keeping documentation current in the RIS and maintaining an orderly film workflow. You'll communicate status updates to physicians and teammates, help keep patients informed about next steps, and adjust priorities as urgent needs arise. Before handoff, you'll ensure required logs and routine checks are completed so the next team starts with accurate information and a ready workspace.
