• Exercising powers of arrest and control; defend self and uses force and deadly force; enforce motor vehicle laws; operate vehicle under emergency conditions and provide emergency assistance; respond to crime scenes and perform investigations; participate in special operations.
• Patrol a designated area on foot or in a vehicle to preserve law and order, prevent and discover crime, direct traffic and enforce traffic and parking regulations.
• Answer calls and investigate complaints involving accidents, fires, misdemeanors and felonies; interview witnesses, gather information and evidence, make arrests, and testify in court.
• May be assigned to specialized duties such as working police desk, maintaining records, license inspection, photography, traffic training, field training, radio operation; advise the public on laws and provide information.
