Job summary

Turner Industries in Kingsport, TN is seeking a Pipe Welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble tanks, vessels, piping and structural parts. This is a non-exempt, site-based role reporting to the Foreman.

Required are a high school diploma, at least four years of welding experience, welding certification, and the ability to pass a weld test plus post-offer drug screening and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill
• Must be able to pass a weld test before being hired
• Must be certified as a welder
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together
• Welds pipe, sheet metal, and structural components by arc, heliarc, gas, and TIG processes
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction
