Job summary

Quality Temp Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-I) in Lancaster, CA. You will perform venipuncture and specimen collection, label and handle specimens, and ensure patient comfort while following CADPH requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a CDPH CPT-I license, has at least one year of phlebotomy experience, and maintains current CPR. This position offers full-time hours with a Monday–Friday schedule and some weekend availability.

Qualifications

  • CDPH license in phlebotomy (CPT-I) required.
  • Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to work weekends.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CEUs as applicable.
  • Current CPR card (AHA or Red Cross).
  • Proof of vaccines/titers (MMR, Varicella).
  • TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within past 12 months.
  • Annual health clearance.
  • Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture with proper labeling and handling.
  • Interact professionally and compassionately with patients.
  • Follow protocols to ensure accuracy and high standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and input data into LIS.
  • Adhere to infection control practices during collection.
  • Clean and maintain phlebotomy equipment and report issues.
  • Stay updated on phlebotomy techniques and regulations.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT I) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and other specimen collection procedures with accuracy and professionalism. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for blood draws, properly labeling and handling specimens, and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. The CPT will also be expected to follow all infection control and safety guidelines, maintain accurate records, and comply with California Department of Public Health (CADPH) regulations. Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to quality care, and maintaining current certification and training are essential.

General Job Information

  • Maintain accurate records and enter data into the laboratory information system (LIS).
  • Adhere to strict infection control practices during specimen collection.
  • Clean and maintain phlebotomy equipment, reporting issues promptly.
  • Stay updated on phlebotomy techniques and regulations, participating in ongoing education.
  • Ensure compliance with CA DPH regulations and maintain required licensures.
Qualifications
  • California Dept. of Public Health (CDPH) License in Phlebotomy (CPT-I)
  • Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to work alone and can follow protocol, procedures, and regulations
  • Must be able to work weekends
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
  • Proof of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) if applicable
  • Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers.
  • Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
  • Current Annual Health Clearance
  • Reliable source of transportation
