Job summary

Sutter Health’s MMC-Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA is seeking a Night Shift Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and support patient care across diverse ages. You will perform tasks with accuracy, compassion, and adherence to privacy and safety standards.

Responsibilities include preparing, labeling and processing specimens, keeping work areas stocked and clean, documenting activities, and escalating issues to maintain quality and turnaround times in a busy laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• CA Licensed CPT I required.
• Experience with phlebotomy and patient interaction preferred.

Position Overview

Collects blood specimens for a variety of laboratory tests using age-appropriate techniques. Interacts with patients of diverse ages, backgrounds, values, beliefs and behavior. Completes quality-related tasks such as documentation of work, maintaining a clean, stocked and safe work area, and monitoring pending work, as well as escalating priority work. Operates and/or uses basic pre-analytic lab equipment. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.

Skills And Knowledge

Knowledge and practice of standard principles, processes, procedures, and equipment related to.

• Collecting blood specimens

Pay Range is $27.86 to $39.00 / hour
