University of California, Davis Health in Sacramento is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician to provide phlebotomy services across adolescent to geriatric patients within the Primary Care Network. You will perform venipuncture, specimen collection, accessioning, and processing, and support clerical tasks in a busy outpatient setting.
This 20% time per diem role requires lifting up to 44 lbs, ability to work variable shifts, and compliance with HIPAA.
This position supports this Departmental purpose by providing phlebotomy services to adolescent/adult/geriatric/pediatric/neonate patients. Additional functions include the timely and accurate specimen receipt, accessioning, preparation and/or processing for analysis on various body fluids, tissues, and fecal material. Functions also include answering telephones, providing specimen collection information and results, filing, record keeping, supply inventory, ordering, equipment and general area maintenance. Incumbent will be assigned to one of the outpatient laboratory locations within the Primary Care Network Clinics (PCN) for phlebotomy/venipuncture services. Additional laboratory functions may include specimen dispatch to department and/or referral laboratories, and providing courier services (utilizing University vehicles and/or by foot).

Must be able to work overtime as needed and rotate weekends, holidays and on-call hours per departmental staffing policies and business need. Must be able to work variable shifts to provide 24-hour coverage. Must be able to lift, move, and handle objects weighting up to 44 lbs. Incumbent will also be required to utilize body mechanics (walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, grasping, pushing, pulling, and reaching) when necessary to carry out all job duties and functions.
