Valley Health System's The Valley Hospital-Paramus is seeking a pharmacy technician to assist the pharmacist with preparation, distribution, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies across departments and satellites.
Ideal candidates will have 2–3 years of pharmacy technician experience, be eligible for state registration, and demonstrate accuracy, teamwork, and the ability to handle emergencies and changing schedules in a fast-paced health-system environment.
To assist the pharmacist in pharmaceutical preparation, distribution, and record keeping functions of pharmaceutical supplies and perform a variety of technical pharmacy services in the Department, designated satellites, and service and patient care areas.
High School diploma or equivalent. College courses preferred.
Two to three years pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Must possess or be eligible for pharmacy technician registration. Pharmacy technician certification required. Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified time periods. Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities and solve problems. Ability to respond quickly to emergency requests. Effective communication skills (orally and in writing). Ability to assist in meeting the pharmaceutical care needs of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
