Job summary

US Department of Veterans Affairs Salt Lake City Health Care System is seeking a GS-07 Pharmacy Technician (Outpatient). This role uses independent judgment to perform the full range of duties, mentors lower graded technicians, and supports performance improvement initiatives.

Applicants pending education/certification may be referred and tentatively selected, but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Proficiency in pharmacy processes and national certification is required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience at the GS-06 level.
• National certification required for higher grades (PTCB or ExCPT via NHA).
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Fill orders and dispense/deliver medications using automated systems.
• Provide technical customer service to Veterans related to prescription needs.
• Delivery of medications to floors/patients and assist with basic inventory management.
