Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Registered with the PA State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Medical background or medical secretary experience preferred.
• Computer skills are helpful.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in dispensing pharmaceutical products and providing pharmacy services to long term care facilities and other contracted entities.
• Processes prescriptions and refill requests under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Uses pharmacy software to process prescriptions, run reports, assist with billing and maintain annual inventory.
• Enter resident information to create or retrieve profiles, ensuring demographics and medication data are up to date.
• Label and pre-package unit dose medications as directed.
• Handle routine cycle fills processed through TCGRx automation.
• Receive and check orders from distributors or manufacturers, store medications properly and rotate stock.
• Fill stock requisitions and maintain adequate medication stock in a fiscally responsible manner.
• Assist in maintaining third-party plans and organized filing for pharmacy operations.
• Deliver prescriptions to facilities in a timely manner and ensure orders are prepared for delivery.
