Job summary

Amazon Pharmacy in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support dispensing and packaging responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. An active in-state Pharmacy Technician license is required, plus national certification (PTCB/NHA) and at least 6 months of computer/web-based tools experience.

The role includes counting, labeling, sorting, and shipping medications, with flexibility for non-standard hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items as permitted by the state board.
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures and regulations.
• Work daily with Leadership to ensure correct medications are in packets.
• Run automated machinery to pre-sort and package medications.
• Transition orders through workflow stages from dispense to quality control.
• Count and label prescription vials and apply labels to bulk items.
• Pack and ship completed orders with appropriate labels.
• Sort and triage boxes to ship at the right time.
• Support distribution manager and pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, packing.
• Maintain equipment and work areas; assist with dispensing and delivery packaging.
• Flexible schedule; shifts may start/end outside normal hours.

Key job responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Work daily with Leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right packets
• Run automated machinery required to pre-sort and package medications
• Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
• Transition Amazon Pharmacy orders through different workflow stages from initial dispense through quality control
• Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk prescription items
• Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes
• Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
• Aid the distribution manager and distribution pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
• Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas
• Package medications for dispensing and for delivery
• Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hours

Physical Requirements

• During shifts last up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary)
• Standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching and/or stretching
• Lifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weight
• Manual dexterity of hands and wrists

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location. Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Active unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in state of employment
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)
• 6+ months of experience working with computer and web-based tools
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor. Ability to read and understand
• English language labelling on product cartons and prescription labels.
