Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our Phoenix, AZ facility. You will assist pharmacists, ensure accurate dispensing, and support packaging and shipping of medications while maintaining safety and compliance.

This role emphasizes teamwork and precise labeling in a fast-paced online pharmacy. The position requires an active in-state license, national certification, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Active in-state Pharmacy License (pharmacy technician, trainee, or assistant)
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of experience with computer and web-based tools
• Ability to read and understand English language labeling on product cartons and prescription labels.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy
• Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Work daily with Leadership to ensure the right medications are put in the right packets
• Run automated machinery to pre-sort and package medications
• Fill exception trays with appropriate medication
• Transition orders through workflow stages from dispense through quality control
• Count and fill prescription vials and affix labels on bulk items
• Pack and ship completed orders with correct labels
• Sort and triage boxes to ship on schedule
• Aid distribution manager and pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
• Maintain equipment and work areas
• Package medications for dispensing and delivery
• Work a flexible schedule - shifts may start/end outside normal hours

Key job responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in filling prescription items, as permitted by the state board of pharmacy

• Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels on dispenser, shipping boxes
• Sort and triage the right boxes to ship at the right time
• Aid the distribution manager and distribution pharmacists with receiving, shipping, counting, and packing
• Clean, and help maintain, equipment and work areas
• Package medications for dispensing and for delivery
• Work a flexible schedule - shifts will possibly start and end outside of normal business hours

Physical Requirements

During shifts last up to 12 hours (standard full-time shifts are 10 hours excluding overtime, flex and part-time shifts may vary):

• Standing, bending, reaching above the head, kneeling, crouching and/or stretching
• Lifting and moving products up to 49 lbs in weight
• Manual dexterity of hands and wrists

Basic Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted in-state Board of Pharmacy License (This includes Pharmacy Technician, Trainee, and Assistant Licenses)
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 6+ months of experience working with computer and web based tools
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisor. Ability to read and understand English language labelling on product cartons and prescription labels.

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
