Job summary

Val Vista Pharmacy in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a certified pharmacy technician to join our high-volume team. This role focuses on prescription processing, patient and provider communication, and supporting daily workflow.

You will handle insurance troubleshooting, accuracy in data entry, compounding oversight, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering exceptional patient service. A community pharmacy background, strong detail orientation, and professional communication are essential for success

Qualifications

• Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• CPhT credential including PTCB certification.
• Minimum one year of community pharmacy experience.
• Excellent data-entry and pharmacy math skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Enter and process new and refill prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Review prescription information for completeness for pharmacist review.
• Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, and offices by phone and electronically.
• Resolve insurance rejections and other processing issues.
• Prepare, count, package, label, and stage prescriptions for verification.
• Assist patients with pickup and POS transactions.
• Coordinate prescription pickup, shipping and fulfillment needs.
• Maintain accurate patient, prescription, and provider data in the system.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, stocking, and expiration-date management.
• Follow pharmacy policies, security requirements, and HIPAA.
• Identify workflow issues and escalate to pharmacist/manager.
