Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a fully remote role with a base in Baltimore, MD. You will evaluate and authorize prior authorization requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment.

The position requires PTCB or NHA certification, a high school diploma or GED, state registration, and 1+ year in retail or call center pharmacy settings. Shifts are 8 hours, 5 days per week, CST hours.

Fully Remote Certified Pharmacy Technician

As a Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will evaluate and authorize approval of commercial prior authorization pharmacy requests from prescribers using clinical criteria in a call center environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and authorize approval of pharmacy requests based on clinical criteria, documenting prior authorization outcomes and communicating pharmacy benefit coverage and formulary alternatives.

• Determine the appropriateness of medications and communicate decisions to physicians, office staff, medical management, and pharmacists.

• Escalate requests requiring extensive clinical review to a pharmacist following clear guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED

• State registration/license

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification required (PTCB or NHA).

• 1+ years of experience in retail or call center pharmacy environment

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position.

The role involves 8-hour shifts between 7:15am CST - 9 pm CST, 5 days a week.

Shifts will be determined based on candidate availability.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
