Job summary

Pacer Group seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a 3-month remote contract assignment supporting an outpatient Pharmacy Benefit program. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience and California license.

You will coordinate prior authorization workflows, communicate with physicians and pharmacies, and ensure accurate drug usage history sharing to support case reviews and drug evaluations. This position offers a remote setup with standard daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Minimum 2 years of Prior Authorization experience.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy benefit processes.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, assist with, and support the implementation of procedures and guidelines for the drug prior authorization program for the outpatient Pharmacy Benefit.
• Evaluate prior authorization requests based on medication policies and operational principles.
• Provide drug usage history and other pertinent pharmacy benefit information to internal business partners to support case-specific reviews and drug evaluations.
• Communicate with physicians, physician office staff, pharmacies, and internal business partners to facilitate accurate and efficient resolution of pharmacy benefit inquiries.
• Clearly communicate formulary alternatives and prior authorization criteria.
• Discuss pharmacy benefit coverage and requirements when needed.
• Support accurate and timely resolution of pharmacy benefit-related cases.
