Job summary

HMR Veteran Services seeks a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support daily pharmacy operations in a long-term care setting, under the Director of Pharmacy Services. You will assist with medication preparation, labeling, and records while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires SC certification/registration, PTCB or equivalent credentialing, and ongoing education. Prior LTC or institutional pharmacy experience is strongly preferred; accuracy and safety are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current SC Pharmacy Technician certification and registration.
• PTCB or board-approved credentialing program.
• Must maintain certification and complete continuing education.
• Experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
• Experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pharmacy operations under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services.
• Prepare, package, and label medications in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
• Assist with medication inventory, ordering, storage, and expiration monitoring.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmaceutical services.
• Communicate with pharmacists and healthcare staff to promote safe medication practices.

Position Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician is certified in the State of South Carolina and supports the Director of Pharmacy Services in the daily operations of the pharmacy department. This role assists with medication preparation, inventory management, and pharmacy support functions in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care facilities.

• Must maintain certification and complete continuing education requirements as required by the State of South Carolina.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy strongly preferred.
