Job summary

Northwest Healthcare is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to ensure the safe and efficient preparation, dispensing, and management of medications within the hospital or healthcare facility. The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for maintaining accurate records, providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff, and collaborating with pharmacists to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Collects and maintains patient medication history accurately.
• Delivers excellent patient and staff service.
• Proficient with pharmacy software and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Collect and maintain patient medication history.
• Obtain accurate home medication lists from patients.
• Enter/update medication lists in EMR.
• Assist with medication reconciliation on admission.
• Communicate with patients, families, pharmacies, and PCPs about meds.
• Maintain Medication Reconciliation structure and tasks.
• Assist pharmacists in preparation, labeling, and dispensing of medications.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounded medications following USP guidelines.
• Manage inventory and prevent shortages/overstock.
• Document dispensing and inventory transactions per regulatory standards.
• Participate in QA initiatives to ensure safety and proper operations.
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy equipment.
• Support pharmacists in reviews and clinical activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
