Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health in Richmond, VA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I–III to support sterile and non-sterile compounding, packaging, and distribution. The role requires VA licensure and PTCB or ExCPT certification, plus a year of pharmacy experience.

Candidates must be able to work all shifts including weekends and holidays; CSPT or TPV training is preferred. Strong attention to detail and adherence to USP standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR valid ExCPT certification provided by the National Health Career Association
• Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
• One year of previous pharmacy practice experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Certification, and/or PTCB Assessment-Based Certificate Programs: TPV, Hazardous Drug Management, and/or Billing and Reimbursement (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency in CPhT I responsibilities
• Maintain medications and supplies used for compounding purposes
• Compound various medication formulations according to United States Pharmacopeia requirements
• Repackage bulk medications into unit-dosed forms
• Provide staffing support across multiple shifts/sites
• Train team members or students with regard to CPhT II shifts and skills
• Serve as back-up to CPhT III as Technician-In-Charge during weekends (as assessed)
