The Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) provides recovery-oriented peer support services to individuals by developing trusting, supportive relationships and drawing upon shared lived experiences with mental health, substance use recovery, the mental health system, and/or forensic experiences.

SUMMARY

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONand/or EXPERIENCE

• Be aself-identified individual who is in recovery and who has received oris receiving state priority group services
• Havemaintained, within the past three years, at least 12 months of successfulfull or part-time paid or voluntary work experience or one year ofpost-secondary education
• Completedand passed a Certified Peer Specialist certification training programincluding written examination, which is offered in accordance withguidelines defined by OMHSAS, DPW. If considered for this position, thisagency will assist in training coordination and cost.
