Qualifications

• Ability to interact positively with persons with mental illness, substance use disorders and development disabilities is required.
• Active listening, education and assistive supports to consumers and family members are required.

The CPRS performs a variety of paraprofessional duties in support of wellness and recovery by utilizing their lived experiences of recovery and mental health disorders. CPRS will offer emotional support, share knowledge, teach skills, provide practical assistance and connect individuals with resources, opportunities, communities of support and other people. Provides face to face interactions that support an individual achieving their self-identified level of recovery, wellness, independence or personal strengths. The CPRS will assist the individual in identifying community-based supports, strengthening natural support systems, and encourages self-advocacy.
