AdventHealth Lake Wales is seeking a Part-time Nursing Attendant/Patient Care Technician to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will perform treatments, support clinical emergencies, and contribute to quality initiatives while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced unit.

The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication with patients and families, and ongoing skill upgrades.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ PCT experience preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit or related setting preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• CNA/CPCT-A/NCCT/NCPCT/PCT-C or EMT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments and patient care per policy and procedures.
• Respond to clinical emergencies as needed and support safety standards.
• Engage in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
• Maintain clean, safe patient environments and proper isolation practices.
• Assist in delivering patient care as directed by a registered nurse.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Required] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Required] OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT)[Required]
