Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando's PCU Cardiac unit is hiring a dedicated Night shift Patient Care Technician who will assist in delivering patient care under RN supervision and maintain safety in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Required CNA/CPCT/A or EMT certification with BLS, High School grad, and 1+ related experience preferred. This facility offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within a faith-based healing ministry.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred
• CPR/BLS and CNA/CPCT/A/EMT certifications required or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Location: PCU Cardiac, 601 E Rollins Street, Orlando
• Schedule: Full time, Night shift
• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs handwashing per policy
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Assists in delivering patient care as a team member under RN direction
• Documents and reports procedures per department policy
• Performs nursing history and reports abnormalities to RN
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Other duties as assigned

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required] OR
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required] OR
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]

Pay Range:

$16.02 - $25.63
