Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Park, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician / CNA for the night shift. You will perform treatments, assist in patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities include effective communication with patients and families, documenting procedures, and adhering to isolation and safety guidelines. Required: high school diploma, CNA or related certification, BLS.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• CNA certification or equivalent required; multiple acceptable certifications listed.
• 1+ year of PCT or bedside patient-care experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR required.
• Ability to follow safety and isolation guidelines and work under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments and patient care per policy and procedure.
• Function in clinical emergencies.
• Document procedures and obtain nursing history.
• Maintain clean, safe environment; assist in delivering patient care under RN.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team.

Job Description

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field Of Study

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]
