Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, FL is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to provide patient care under RN supervision. You will perform routine treatments, assist in emergencies, document procedures, and support patient safety in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Requirements include a High School diploma, BLS, and CNA or equivalent certification. Prior bedside care in an acute unit is preferred, with day shift availability and opportunities for professional growth within a

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
• 1+ PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit or related role [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required
• CNA or CPCT/NCPCT/ PCT-C or EMT certification required

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in performance improvements and supports safety standards.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in delivering patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents procedures in accordance with department policy.
• Assists in obtaining nursing history and reports abnormalities to the RN.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
