Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a full-time patient care technician for day shift in Florida. The role supports nursing staff, provides direct patient care, and participates in safety and quality initiatives. Requires a high school diploma; BLS/CPR and CNA/CPCT/A/EMT certifications are expected.

You will work to maintain a clean, safe environment, assist with patient care, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams. Pay range is $16.02–$25.63 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required].
• 1+ PCT-related experience preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments per policy and provide patient care appropriate to age and acuity.
• Respond in clinical emergencies and support quality initiatives.
• Follow isolation guidelines and use PPE per policy.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and document procedures accurately.
• Assist in delivering patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Job Description:

• Shift 06:45AM-19:15PM
• Every other weekend. Holiday rotation based on AdventHealth Policy
• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Participates in obtaining a nursing history and reports abnormalities to the registered nurse.
• Assists in identifying patient needs Other duties as assigned.

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]
