Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms for new admissions and orient patients to rooms.
• Assist with transfers of patients using equipment and assistance from staff.
• Ensure patient safety through proper lifting and transport procedures.
• Document care, intake/output, vitals, and weights per policy.
• Collect and label specimens at bedside and send to lab.
• Report changes in patient status promptly to appropriate staff.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families, staff, and medical personnel.
• Maintain accurate patient records and unit census.
• Respond to patient call lights and address needs per skill level.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living as ordered by physician.
