Job summary

Providence in Lubbock is seeking a Certified Patient Care Technician for the MedSurg unit. This onsite role involves assisting patients with activities of daily living and following delegated instructions from licensed nurses.

Shifts are 12 hours, typically 7am-7pm or 5:30am-5:30pm, with weekends/holidays as needed. The position requires completion of a state-approved PCT program (CPCT) or equivalent, plus BLS and relevant national credentials.

• Coursework/Training: Combined equivalent experience and certification needed for function and level, or current graduate of state approved PCT program (CPCT).
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Upon hire: National Certified Patient Care Technician - National Association for Health Professionals, or
• Upon hire: National Certified Patient Care Technician - National Center for Competency Testing, or

The Patient Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and selective procedures delegated and communicated by the licensed nurse. These activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment which facilitates patient focused care.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 6 months PCT experience in an acute care setting.
• 6 months Phlebotomy experience.
