Banner Gateway Oncology ICU and Stem Cell Transplant Unit is seeking a part-time CNA/LNA to join a fast-paced team on a 24-bed unit. The role involves night shifts (two 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30pm–7:00am) with a weekend/holiday rotation and a $1,500 sign-on bonus for eligible licensed CNAs.

As a PCA for the Banner Gateway Oncology ICU and Stem Cell Transplant Unit, you will join our team on a very busy 24-bed unit with a 12/1 ratio, that specializes in the care of oncology patients from diagnosis, treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatment, symptom management, palliative (supportive) care, clinical trials, and care of some stem cell patients. A high percentage of our patients have a diagnosis of leukemia, but we care for patients with all types of cancer. We are affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center and work closely with them to ensure our patients get the best cancer care possible. Many of our patients have extended stays to complete their course of treatment. This allows us to really get to know each patient and his or her family members and helps to form a therapeutic relationship and bond.
This position is a part time NIGHT shift working two 12-hour shifts per week from 6:30pm - 7:00am. Our team uses a rotating weekends and holidays schedule. You will have the opportunity to utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift coverage as well as enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% Night Shift differential when applicable!

Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center Located in Gilbert, Ariz. (the Phoenix Metro area) on the Banner Gateway Campus, the center provides world‑class care for oncology patients - both inpatient and outpatient - and has also brought leading oncology programs to the Banner Gateway campus including designation as a Stem Cell Transplant Center of Excellence and comprehensive Head & Neck cancer care. Our capabilities include five linear accelerator vaults, a brachytherapy vault, an advanced diagnostic imaging suite with PET/CT scan, more than 70 infusion bays, a cryopreservation lab and much more. Our inpatient medical oncology unit also incorporates a program that utilizes the electronic surveillance partnership in caring for the patient, where remote nurses have the ability to interact with patients via two‑way audio‑video to assist the bedside nurse with patient care.
This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on‑going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Current BLS certification is required. Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers. In Tucson: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires. Existing Tucson incumbents may not transfer out of their geographical market without meeting the CNA requirement. Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 1 year of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital or physician office setting, or prior experience in customer service. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy and keyboarding skills is required. Depending on department assignment, receive a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity is required. Successful completion of either a unit approved basic electrocardiogram interpretation course or electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on the job training is also required. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
In Arizona the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure is preferred. Recent healthcare experience preferred. Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program is preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
