McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL seeks an experienced Health Information Management coder to join the outpatient coding team. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding for diverse clinic and hospital outpatient services.

You will review documentation, resolve coding questions, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines to support reimbursement and data integrity. A CCP/AHIMA credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA required (CPC, COC, CCS, CCA, RHIT, RHIA).
• Minimum of 2–3 years of hospital outpatient coding experience.
• Experience with electronic health records and coding software required.

Responsabilités

• Codes outpatient records and assigns ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Reviews records for completeness and accuracy; resolves deficiencies.
• Ensures compliant coding to support reimbursement and data integrity.
• Collaborates with physicians and staff to clarify documentation.
