Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with Associates Degree.
• Previous hand therapy experience preferred or work in an outpatient orthopedic upper extremity setting.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the rules and regulations of the state specific Occupational Therapy Practice Act, Code of Ethics of the AOTA and organizational policies and procedures.
• Assists Occupational Therapists in assessment of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients referred to the clinic.
• Implements treatment program developed by the occupational therapist for various age groups.
• Modifies and/or adjusts treatment program through collaboration with supervising occupational therapist.
• Maintains accurate electronic medical records of the occupational therapy services rendered.
• Provides written instructions to the patient and/or family detailing the home program.
• Communicates patient status to the supervising occupational therapist and/or referring physician.
