Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking an orthodontic dental assistant to provide direct patient care in a Kaiser Permanente dental office in Portland, OR. You will assist the dentist, manage impressions, bonding, and arch wires, and help with intraoral/extraoral imaging.

The role requires four-handed dentistry skills, knowledge of dental materials, and the ability to work under direct and indirect supervision in a fast-paced environment. Travel to Clackamas offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Complete a dental assisting program accredited by CODA.
• Pass the Basic and Expanded Function Orthodontic Examination (DANB).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an orthodontic dental office.
• Follow dentist on premises; assist with cement removal, impressions, arch wires, ligatures, and trays for bonding.
• Photograph and document intraoral and extraoral records; finish study models to orthodontist criteria.
• Trace cephalometric x-rays for diagnostic purposes.
