Job description

These roles provide essential assistance to healthcare professionals in delivering patient care. Ensure the smooth functioning of clinical operations by handling tasks that support the diagnostic, therapeutic, and procedural aspects of patient care. Allied Health - Health Services professionals work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of medical services.

These roles focus on the care and correction of vision, involving the diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye health and vision‑related issues. Professionals in the optical field work with patients to assess vision, prescribe corrective lenses, and detect eye disease.

Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty spend the majority of time in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. Opportunities for progression outside this career stream are typically limited without additional education or significant training and experience. Specialty license or certification is required which is acquired through training and/or experience. This career stream is most commonly applied to patient care areas.

Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and requires vocational or technical education. Works under moderate supervision. Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience, more experience preferred.
• Licensure: COA‑Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification by JCAHPO may be required. See job requisition for position certification requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and the ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 50–100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The starting base rate for this role is $19.49 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
