Shades of Green is seeking a Certified Operator L&O to join our team in New York to lead shrub and turf fertilization and pest control services. You will operate a range of lawn and landscape equipment and act as the primary contact for residential and commercial clients.

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about plant material, pest problems, and applicable regulations governing chemical use and application procedures, with strong safety and record-keeping practices.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Certified Pest Operator or in a similar position.
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols when dealing with potentially hazardous materials
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to maintain detailed records of payment and chemicals used

Responsibilities

• Professional and effective communication with team members, customers, and management.
• Apply appropriate granular, liquid, dust, gel, or ULV applications for fertilization, pest, disease, and weed control.
• Diagnose and treat existing turf and shrub issues during routine inspections.
• Create and present bids with the estimated cost of services
• Assist with materials ordering.
• Assist team members with identification of turf and shrub problems.
• Operate and maintain truck and equipment to complete routes.
