Job summary

Encompass Health in Sugar Land, TX is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy treatment under supervision, helping patients progress after stroke, spinal cord injuries, and other conditions.

You will collaborate with therapists, communicate with hospital staff, and strive to deliver compassionate, high-quality care from day one; benefits include comprehensive coverage, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or certification in occupational therapy assistance where applicable.
• CPR certification preferred, unless otherwise required by hospital policy.
• Successful completion of an associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
• Effective communication skills for working with patients, families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatment and patient care according to regulations and guidelines.
• Perform therapy tasks as delegated and supervised by therapists.
• Maintain open communication with hospital departments to meet patient and staff needs.
