Job summary

Mercy Health in Oklahoma City is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient team under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will participate in comprehensive treatment plans, perform initial assessments, and document patient progress in alignment with Mercy Service Standards.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited OTA degree, current licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification, with a preference for 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction of OT.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors across age groups (neonatal to geriatric).
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
