Job summary

Palmetto Subacute Care Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to deliver treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The COTA will follow OT-developed goals and document patient progress to keep supervision informed.

Experience in long-term or geriatric care is preferred. The role requires strong documentation, punctuality, teamwork across disciplines, and superior patient service in a compassionate setting.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong documentation writing skills.
• Ability to document patient progress weekly.
• Collaborates with all disciplines for patient-centered care.
• Excellent patient service and clinical acumen.
• Report to work on time and adhere to scheduled hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out best practice treatments under OT supervision.
• Provide treatment adherence to goals developed by the OT.
• Provide feedback to supervising OT via documentation or facility policy.
• Maintain timely progress notes and patient progress documentation.
• Collaborate with all disciplines to ensure quality patient care.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for carrying out best practice treatments under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide treatment by adhering to specific goals developed by the OT. As well, the COTA must provide feedback to the supervision occupational therapist via documentation or in any other method required by facility policy.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation
