Job summary

Mills Pond Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Setauket, NY is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to carry out evidence-based treatments under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Implement goals developed by the OT and document patient progress in a timely manner.

Experience with long-term/geriatric care is preferred. A valid state license is required, along with strong documentation, punctuality and collaboration to provide patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid professional license/registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment under supervision of OT.
• Experience with long-term and/or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong documentation/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out best practice treatments under supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Provide treatment to patients per goals developed by OT.
• Document patient progress and weekly notes as required by policy.
• Collaborate with all disciplines for patient-centered care.
• Report to work on time and maintain professionalism.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Rehabilitation.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible for carrying out best practice treatments under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. The Occupational Therapist Assistant will provide treatment by adhering to specific goals developed by the OT. As well, the COTA must provide feedback to the supervision occupational therapist via documentation or in any other method required by facility policy.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Must have a valid professional license and registration for state of practice.
• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of Occupational Therapist
• Experience with long-term care and/or geriatric care is preferred but not limited to.
• Well versed with documentation writing
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in a timely fashion.
• Collaborates with all disciplines to provide best patient centered treatment and care.
• Exceptional patient service skills and ability to demonstrate clinical excellence
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
• Perform all other duties assigned by Director of Rehabilitation

Compensation

• $31-$34/hour
