The Bremerton School District is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide school-based occupational therapy services seven hours per day, three days a week during the school year.
The COTA will work under the direction of the licensed Occupational Therapist, conduct delegated assessments, document services, and contribute to IEP/IFSP goals in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is an individual who has received an associate degree as a certified occupational therapist assistant from an approved school.The School COTA is a skilled, technical worker who performs occupational therapy and related duties as assigned by the school district Occupational Therapist.The work is carried out under the direction of the Occupational Therapist to whom the employee is responsible.
Reports to and evaluated by:Supervisor of Special Education or Designee
Current State Occupational Therapy Practice Act requires periodic supervision of the Occupational Therapist Assistant by a licensed Occupational Therapist.Immediate supervision means the OT is in audible or visual range of the student and the COTA treating the student.Direct supervision means the OT is on the premises, being quickly and easily available.Indirect supervision means the OT is not on the premises, but has given either written or oral instruction for treatment.When the supervision is indirect, student re-evaluation must be performed by a supervising (licensed ) OT every five visits or once a week if treatment is performed more than once a week.
