Alameda Center For Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Perth Amboy, NJ seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents through individualized OT plans under the supervision of an OT.

The role requires graduation from an accredited OTA program and state licensure or eligibility. You will work with a rehab team to deliver ADL and ROM therapies, document care, and participate in meetings to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.

Qualificações

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.

Responsabilidades

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan under the supervision of the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist.
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under supervision.
• Works with other rehab team members to develop programs aligned with each resident’s needs.
• Maintains appropriate and timely resident documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends and contributes to resident care and staffing meetings as a representative of occupational therapy.
• Cleans, maintains and reports repairs needed for equipment.
• Ensures residents and families receive high-quality, compassionate service recognizing needs and rights.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
• 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

• 1 Good organizational and time management skills.
• 2 Good verbal and written communication skills.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
• 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required
