Job summary

Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE in Eckert, CO seeks a COTA to provide valued occupational therapy services to older adults in a long-term care setting. You will collaborate with an OT and care team to promote independence and safety through targeted rehab activities.

The role requires Colorado COTA eligibility or current registration, with a preference for one year of OTA experience in long-term care and care for frail seniors.

Qualifications

• OTA program graduate or equivalent certification.
• Pre-OT coursework or related field experience.

• Communicate progress with OTRs, participants, and staff.

Hourly Range: $25 - $31 per hour

What You Bring (Requirements)

• Graduate from an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum accredited jointly by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Is a registered COTA in Colorado or is eligible for registration in the state of Colorado.
• A minimum of one-year experience as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in a long-term care facility preferred.
• A minimum of one year's experience working with a frail or elderly population required.

What You'll Be Responsible For

The COTA will provide quality ongoing therapy to all participants of the Senior CommUnity Care program. Communicate on an ongoing basis with OTR, participants and staff, the progress of such designed programs. The COTA assists the Occupational Therapist with participant related activities and direct participant care. The Assistant keeps department records as per facility policy. Assists in ordering, inventory, distribution and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME) for participants as needed.

• Optimize function and safety among participants to ensure establishment of strong rehab care practice within the Senior CommUnity Care program.
• Assist with planning, scheduling, mailing, transporting, filing of documents and coordinating of Occupational Therapy services offered by the department.
• Provides Occupational Therapy to the participants under the direction of the OTR.
• Assists with the participant care planning process as delegated by the Registered Occupational Therapist.
• Performs other duties as required or requested.
