Job summary

Rancho Mirage Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support OT in developing and implementing resident treatment plans. You will administer activities, monitor progress, and ensure a safe, clean therapy environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an Associate degree in OTA, current CA COTA licensure, and strong communication and organizational skills. Sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for directing, modifying and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as supervised by the Occupational Therapist.Administers treatments and physical agents as directed by the Occupational Therapist, after the Occupational Therapist has evaluated the patient.The COTA assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.The COTA participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Physical Requirements

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.

Working throughout the nursing areas

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistance.
