Job summary

Azria Health is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in Iowa to support therapy plans, assist patients with activities, and help maintain a safe, caring environment.

The role emphasizes documentation, collaboration with therapists and staff, and adherence to CNRS policies, while promoting patient progress and confidentiality. Regular attendance and physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Iowa.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Physical Demands/Working Conditions include walking, standing, sitting, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patient preparing for therapy and return trip. Assist with dressing and undressing; removing and putting on braces or supportive equipment, prostheses, crutches, etc.
  • Implement patient plan of care and goals using appropriate COTA skills.
  • Actively listen to patient and family concerns when modifying treatment plans.
  • Be able to provide patient care during scheduled hours as assigned by a supervisor.
  • Educate and motivate patients and families to learn and improve functional activities.
  • Assure the quality of overall perceived patient care.
  • Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Measure and track range of motion.
  • Record data progress during therapy session.
  • Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education activities and obtain required contact hours.
  • Adherence to CNRS Policies
  • Demonstrate positive rapport with staff members, developing positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
  • Take direction and initiate actions that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Follow CNRS policies and procedures, including safety processes.

  • Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in continuing education activities and obtain required contact hours.
